Frequently asked questions

What are mahjong racks and pushers?

Racks hold your 14-tile hand; pushers help build and push the wall. American (Mah Jongg) tables almost always use both.

Do I need to buy racks separately?

Not always. 46 of 46 complete sets in our catalog already include racks, and 41 include pushers (as of 2026-10-30). Tile-only sets need racks.

What length rack do I need?

Separately sold racks in our catalog run 18.5–20.0″. Longer (~20″) racks suit larger designer tiles.
