How we collect prices and specs

Last updated · by Mahjong Set Finder team · How we collect data

Short version: 84 real listings, prices captured daily with the date shown, specs copied as listed, nothing estimated.

Where the data comes from

Every product is a real listing on a public retailer or brand page. We copy the price, tile count, joker count, tile dimensions, material, rack length and what is included exactly as listed. If a listing doesn’t state a spec, we show “—”.

How often prices update

A scraper records each product’s price once a day into a price history file. Price tracking started on 2026-10-30; the history currently holds 241 price points (latest 2026-10-30). Every price on the site shows the date it was captured.

How we flag price drops

A product appears as a drop on the deals page only when its latest captured price is lower than the capture before it. We need at least two captures, so new products never show a drop on day one. Current verified drops: 2.

Unavailable listings

If a listing stops loading, we mark it unavailable instead of guessing a price or stock status.

What we don’t publish

Machine-readable data

sets.json (catalog) · llms.txt · llms-full.txt (plain-text catalog) · sitemap.

Corrections: if a listing changed, the next daily capture updates it. Questions about the site: see About.
